In my previous beauty post I shared with all of you how I am on this journey of slowly down the aging process as best as possible. Yes, age is inevitable, we all know that. But what we tend to forget is that we too have a part to play when it comes to looking after our skin and bodies from eating healthier, exercising more often, and investing in great skin care regimes. In the last post I spoke about how I discovered The Body Shop’s “Drops of Youth” skin care range, which I am totally loving and my skin feels so moisturized and less mummified.
Now, that I am sorting out my face, I need to now focus on prepping the rest of my body for Summer. Wintery skin tends to look a bit dry, if not a little bit dead (#hellomummification). Therefore, post Wintery legs and arms that look like they are shedding bits of skin everywhere may not be appealing for the general public (unless that’s your thing – then rock that look by all means.) But this girl over here is on an exfoliation and moisturizing mission. Insert newly found, tested and so in love with their products : Darling Jane.
I actually stumbled across Darling Jane via Instagram, and almost immediately fell in love with this locally made brand. Yip, Darling Jane is based in Cape Town, and yes they do have an online store guys! All of their beauty and bath products are not only affordable, they are hand made , with natural ingredients that both cleanses, hydrates and nourishes your skin, and it smells amazing too!
Darling Jane has various scented scrubs (that smells good enough to eat) for your body, face, and lips. They also make bath scrubs, bath oils, bath milk, and products to help nourish your hair and nails. PLUS, they make Darling Jane sets. With their sets you can choose a mixed combo of their products, which is so perfect for gift giving, or for simply treating yourself with, or hello early Christmas Gift shopping!
For my first Darling Jane experience I decided to opt for the mini build a box valued at a R100. But, because I am subscribed to their newsletter, they were doing a special where you could get up to 30% off your order. So when I ordered my mini build a box, I ended up paying like R70 for a lip scrub, bath salts and a lip balm! What a bargain, right?
The lip scrub can be used three times a week, and the lip balm whenever needed. I love the vanilla scent of these two products, and I love how soft it left my lips feeling afterwards.
I love having a good old soak in the bath, it’s relaxing especially if done right. You know, when you bath by candle light, have some scented goodness in the bath, along with reading a book, whilst munching on chocolate or sipping on wine. Sigh, the good life! The Romantic Vanilla Rose bath salts, are just that – sweet , enchanting , and it leaves you feeling relaxed with moisturized skin. I actually cannot wait to try a different combo with different scents!
